Track Description

Advances in information and communication technologies are transforming markets and operations in many industries. Information is now a core component of production processes, enabling new value networks and innovative partnerships. On the supply side, information goods are being dematerialized, restructured, and distributed at negligible costs. On the demand side, consumers are collaborating in the design of product and services, through personalization and the exchange of opinions in online communities using social media. Economic theories and methodologies are increasingly applied to understand these (r)evolutions and provide insights into how Information Systems (IS) resources will add value. This track encourages submissions of research related to (i) the design and use of IS in organizations, networks, communities, and markets, (ii) the economics of information and communication technologies, (iii) the impact of IS on economies and societies. Theoretical and empirical papers are welcome.
